Mission:

The Disability Rights Fund (DRF) is a grantmaking collaborative between donors and the global disability rights community that provides financial and technical resources to organizations of persons with disabilities to advocate for equal rights and full participation in society. DRF’s mission is to support persons with disabilities around the world to build diverse movements, ensure inclusive development agendas, and achieve equal rights and opportunity for all.  Through grantmaking, advocacy, and technical assistance, DRF supports organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs) in Africa, Asia, the Pacific, and the Caribbean to use global rights and development frameworks to address inequality and achieve rights and inclusion.

Channel Grants:

2022-24: Channel made a two year grant to support the Disability Rights Fund (DRF) for its ongoing work promoting and supporting disability rights with a specific focus on their work at the intersection of gender and other marginalized identities and on the implementation of DRF’s Gender Guidelines.

2021: Channel made a grant to support the Disability Rights Fund (DRF) for its work at the intersection of gender and disability.  DRF’s Gender Guidelines, released in 2018, are an expression of their commitment to apply a gender lens to their work as well as to learn more about the issues facing women and girls with disabilities from more marginalized communities and those with non-majority identities and sexualities (such as ethnic minorities, refugees, or LGBTQI persons), so that they can best support all persons with disabilities.
